IBM appoints ITpoint as Swiss “Power Systems Cloud Provider
We have been using IBM Power Systems with the IBM i and AIX operating systems as a fixed component of the Managed Services and Cloud portfolio for several years. Following an in-depth review, IBM has now recognized us as an official cloud partner for the Power platform. The requirements for the title are profound technology expertise and cloud competencies, geo-redundant system architecture, references and a high service management maturity with 7x24 support.
We have been relying on IBM Power systems since our founding in 2002 and today support around 70 Power customers with a focused team of specialists. These customers especially appreciate the high stability and performance of the Power platform when running particularly business-critical applications. Since 2013, we have been supplementing the Intel-based systems of the ITpoint cloud infrastructure with IBM Power technology. By appointing us as an “IBM Power Systems Cloud Provider”, IBM not only recognizes what we have achieved so far, but also our continuous development of the “Power as a Service” topics.
Stefan Risse and his eight-person Power specialist team are doing everything they can to ensure that ITpoint can offer outstanding platform and operation services for our Power customers in parallel with Intel-based technologies. This includes tools developed in-house, but also initiatives such as the Power i Round Table, which is an exchange platform for Power customers. We are well equipped for new topics such as SAP S/4HANA and we are already implementing them as well.
